Alternative Names Fibroblast Growth Factor 2; FGF-2; Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor; bFGF; Heparin-Binding Growth Factor 2; HBGF-2; FGF2; FGFB
Source / Host E.coli
Tag Tag free
Protein Length Full Length of Mature Protein
Molecular Weight 16.5 kDa
Formulation Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution containing 10mMPB, 250mMNaCl,5%mannitol and 0.01% Tween 80 ,pH 7.4
Reconstitution We recommend briefly centrifuging the vial prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile deionized water to a recommended concentration of 0.1–1.0 mg/mL. If used immediately after reconstitution, glycerol is not required. If not for immediate use, after the protein is completely dissolved, add glycerol to a final concentration of 5%–50% (default: 50%), aliquot as needed, and store at -20℃/-80℃ for long-term storage. If dilution is needed during subsequent use, dilute with the same buffer as the protein, but without stabilizers (e.g., glycerol, trehalose, etc).

Description

FGF2 orchestrates cell proliferation, survival, and differentiation across multiple lineages, making it a critical tool for dissecting mitogenic signaling and tissue regeneration pathways. This tag-free bovine ortholog, spanning the complete mature sequence (aa 10–155), demonstrates robust bioactivity with an ED50 ≤2.0 ng/mL in NIH3T3 fibroblast proliferation assays, confirming potent receptor engagement suitable for dose-response studies in stem cell expansion, neuronal differentiation protocols, and angiogenesis models. Expressed in *E. coli* to yield an unglycosylated form that retains… Read more
