Pentapeptide-3 (Vialox?) is a synthetic peptide that helps reduce the appearance of expression wrinkles through a botox-like mechanism. Acting as a competitive antagonist of acetylcholine receptors (AChRs), it interferes with signal transmission between nerves and muscles, limiting muscle contraction and promoting a smoother skin appearance. Inspired by the action of curare-derived neuromuscular blockers, Pentapeptide-3 offers a needle-free approach to the topical management of dynamic wrinkles.

Main characteristics

Pentapeptide-3‘s competitive antagonism at peripheral nAChRs is mechanistically complementary to Argireline (SNARE inhibitor) and Leuphasyl (opioid receptor agonist), enabling three-mechanism botox-like formulations. Its short half-life minimizes risk of accumulation. Stable at pH 4.5–7.5. Produced via SPPS to ≥95% purity (HPLC + MS).
