Palmitoyl Tripeptide-8 (Neutrazen?) is a lipopeptide consisting of a tripeptide linked to palmitic acid, a modification that enhances skin penetration. It has been shown to bind the MC1R receptor with an affinity similar to that of α-MSH, while exhibiting minimal melanogenic activity. In addition, Neutrazen? helps soothe sensitive skin by reducing the production of UVB-induced pro-inflammatory cytokines, including interleukin-8 (IL-8).
Main characteristics
Palmitoyl Tripeptide-8 targets innate immune receptor signaling, a mechanism distinct from cytokine inhibitors like Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 (IL-6) or neuro-soothing peptides like Skinasensyl (μ-opioid). This upstream TLR2 modulation provides broad anti-inflammatory coverage across multiple cytokine pathways. Stable at pH 4.5–7.5. Compatible with most sensitive skin formulation bases.
