Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17 is a lipidated pentapeptide bearing an N-terminal myristic acid chain that activates keratin gene expression in hair follicle cells, stimulating the growth and thickening of eyelashes, eyebrows, and scalp hair. The myristoyl fatty acid group significantly enhances cellular penetration through the lipid-rich follicular membranes, improving bioavailability at the follicular level. The KLAKK sequence directly promotes keratin protein synthesis in follicular keratinocytes.

Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17 acts at the transcriptional level, upregulating keratin structural protein genes in hair follicle keratinocytes. The lipid anchoring improves residence time in the follicular canal. The hair care peptide segment is one of the fastest-growing in cosmetic ingredients. Stable in both aqueous and anhydrous formulations. Produced via SPPS with myristoylation to ≥95% purity (HPLC + MS).
