Acetyl Tetrapeptide-2 (Peptigravity®) is a thymopentin-derived signal tetrapeptide that activates Fibulin-5 (FBLN5) and Lysyl Oxidase-Like 1 (LOXL1), two glycoproteins critical for elastin fiber crosslinking and organization in the extracellular matrix. By restoring ECM structural integrity and dermal-epidermal junction cohesion, it combats skin sagging and loss of firmness associated with chronological aging and gravitational forces. It also demonstrates efficacy in reducing hair loss when combined with B vitamin complexes.
Main characteristics
Acetyl Tetrapeptide-2 addresses a specific and often neglected pathway in skin aging: the progressive disorganization of elastin fibers independent of collagen degradation. By acting directly on FBLN5 and LOXL1, it restores the ECM ‘scaffold’ that maintains skin architecture against gravity. Stable in aqueous formulations at pH 4.5–7.0. Produced via SPPS to ≥95% purity (HPLC + MS).
